Kraken (Bane) XR

The Kraken (Bane) XR is a 100-ton assault that fights at long range, a 3073 rebuild of the 2827 original with the same cruising speed of 32 km/h and top speed of 54. Where the original packed five Ultra AC/2 into each arm, the XR trims that down to two Rotary AC/2 per arm, and it drops the four machine guns from the right torso in favor of a Streak LRM 10 in each torso and an ER Large Laser in the left torso. Endo-composite internal structure replaces the standard structure, laser-reflective armor replaces the standard plating, and 16 laser heat sinks stand in for the original's 10 double heat sinks. CASE II is fitted in both arms and both torsos, and the design remains a maintenance-intensive one to keep running. Olivetti Weaponry performs the refit at its Sudeten works.
