Hunchback HBK-5SS

The HBK-5SS rebuilds the 50-ton Hunchback as a missile boat that fights at long range, a sharp turn from the close-in juggernaut role of the 2572 HBK-4G and its single AC/20. In place of that autocannon, twin MML 9 racks fill the left and right torsos, each fitted with an Artemis IV fire-control system, and CASE lines the left torso. The arm-mounted medium lasers give way to ER medium lasers, a third ER medium laser sits in the right torso, and the head-mounted small laser becomes an ER small laser. A 200 light fusion engine and endo steel structure replace the base's standard fusion plant and standard framework, and the heat-sink count drops from 13 single sinks to 10 double sinks. Cruising and top speeds hold at 43 and 65 km/h, but the HBK-5SS adds a 120-meter jump capability the HBK-4G lacked. Both arms still carry reinforced battle fists.
