Recognition Notes
The Hatchetman HCT-5S (Austin) is a 45-ton brawler that closes to short range behind three ER medium lasers, all mounted in the left arm. An LB 10-X AC sits in the right torso, backed by CASE, while the right arm carries a hatchet for close-in melee work. The design runs on a 180 light fusion engine, cruising at 43 km/h and topping out near 65, with a single jump carrying it 120 metres. Ferro-fibrous armor covers the frame, and an anti-aircraft fire control system is built into the targeting suite. Defiance Industries builds the type at Hesperus II, with production also at Taurus Territorial Industries' Taurus plant.
