Gladiator GLD-5R

The GLD-5R rebuilds the Gladiator around stand-off firepower, where the GLD-1R fought as a close-in brawler back in 2468. In place of the Large Laser, the right arm now carries a Snub-Nose PPC, and the twin Medium Lasers in the left arm are upgraded to ER Medium Lasers; an MML 5 is added in the right torso. A 220 light fusion engine replaces the old 265 fusion powerplant, and standard armor replaces the primitive plating of the original, while a lighter bank of 13 double heat sinks takes the place of the 14 single sinks. The left torso carries a Guardian ECM suite and a C3 slave unit, and the right torso adds an Artemis IV fire-control system; a jump capability of 180 metres is new to this configuration. The reinforced head cowl carries over from the GLD-1R, and Marian Arms Inc. builds the type at its Alphard (MH) plant, with StarCorps Industries producing it elsewhere.
