Gladiator GLD-4R

The GLD-4R is a 55-ton skirmisher, a 2495 rework of the 2468 GLD-1R brawler that trades reach for a mixed close-range punch. In place of the Large Laser in the right arm, this version carries a PPC and an SRM 6, alongside the pair of Medium Lasers still mounted in the left arm. A larger 275 fusion engine lifts cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h, and standard armor replaces the primitive plating of the original, though the heat-sink count drops from 14 to 13 single sinks. The reinforced head cowl carries over from the GLD-1R. Marian Arms Inc. builds the type at its Alphard (MH) plant, with production also carried out by Merryweather Industries.
