Assassin ASN-99

The ASN-99 is a 40-ton scout, a 3068 rework of the 2676 ASN-21 that trades its old fusion plant for a 280 XL fusion engine while holding the same cruising speed of 76 km/h and top speed of 119, with a 210-metre jump capability carried over unchanged. Where the ASN-21 carried a Medium Laser in the right arm, this variant mounts a Light PPC there instead, and in place of the single SRM 2 and LRM 5 it fields a matched pair of SRM 2 racks, one in each torso. A TAG unit sits in the head and a Guardian ECM suite occupies the left torso, neither present on the original, and a sword is fitted to the left arm. Stealth armor replaces the ASN-21's standard plating, and the heat sinks change from single to 10 double. The design remains an easily-serviced machine with a cramped cockpit, and it is built by Hellespont 'Mech Works at Sian rather than by Maltex Corporation at Errai.
