Albatross ALB-5W

The Albatross ALB-5W is a 95-ton assault juggernaut, a 3070 rework of the 3053 ALB-3U original. Where the ALB-3U carries an LB 10-X AC in the left arm, this variant mounts an ER PPC there, and the right arm's Large Pulse Laser and Medium Laser give way to a single Large VSP Laser. In place of the left torso's ER Large Laser it fields a Medium Pulse Laser, an ER Medium Laser, and an ER Small Laser, and the same trio of weapons replaces the right torso's LRM 15 and SRM 6. A 380 light fusion engine stands in for the base model's 380 XL fusion engine, and Triple-Strength Myomer lets the ALB-5W push its cruising speed to 65 km/h under combat heat, level with its top speed. Heavy ferro-fibrous armor replaces the standard plating, while the heat-sink count drops from 14 double to 13 double. It is cataloged as an easily-serviced design, built by Irian BattleMechs Unlimited at its Irian factory.
