Owens OW-1B

The Owens OW-1B is a 35-ton scout that fights close in, cruising at 86 km/h and topping out at 130. Where the OW-1 configuration carries a pair of LRM 5 racks in the arms, this configuration mounts three Small Lasers in the left arm and an SRM 6 in the right arm, with an Artemis IV fire-control system added to the right arm. The head-mounted Medium Laser of the OW-1 gives way to a Small Laser, and the twin Small Lasers in the center torso are absent. TAG in the right torso, the Beagle active probe in the left torso, and the C3 slave unit in the right torso carry over from the base configuration. Luthien Armor Works builds the type at its Luthien OmniMech Production Facility, with Irian BattleMechs Unlimited producing it as well.
