Owens OW-1A

The Owens OW-1A is a 35-ton scout that fights close in, cruising at 86 km/h and reaching 130 at top speed. Where the OW-1 base configuration carries an LRM 5 in each arm, this configuration mounts a Streak SRM 2 in the left arm and another in the right, and in place of the base's twin small lasers the center torso holds a pair of machine guns. The head weapon becomes a small pulse laser rather than the base's medium laser, while the TAG in the right torso, the Beagle active probe in the left torso, and the C3 slave unit in the right torso carry over unchanged. Luthien Armor Works builds the type at its OmniMech production facility on Luthien, with production also at Irian.
