Recognition notes
The VP-9 is a 3147 rebuild of the 2832 VP-1, keeping the 70-ton brawler's close-in role but reworking its arms entirely. Where the VP-1 carried a Binary Laser (Blazer) Cannon in each arm and three Medium Pulse Lasers spread across the torsos, the VP-9 mounts four Plasma Cannons together in the left arm, fitted with an actuator enhancement system, while the right arm swings a mace instead of a matching cannon. A Clan active probe sits in the head, and the heat-sink count falls from 17 to 13 Inner Sphere double sinks as the engine shifts from an XL fusion unit to a 280 Inner Sphere light fusion engine and the internal structure moves to Inner Sphere composite. Cruising speed holds at 43 km/h with a top speed near 65 and a 120-metre jump, and the type still carries a fixed searchlight, enhanced communications gear, and its rugged, field-serviceable frame. Kallon Industries builds it at Bernardo.
