Recognition notes
The Viper VP-5 is a 70-ton brawler, a 2958 rebuild of the 2832 original that trades the VP-1's twin Binary Laser (Blazer) Cannons and trio of medium pulse lasers for a battery of six medium lasers, three in each arm, and a large laser in each torso. The standard 280 fusion engine replaces the base model's 280 XL fusion engine, and the heat-sink count of 17 stays level while switching from double to single sinks. Cruising speed holds at 43 km/h with a top speed near 65, and the jump jets still carry it 120 metres. It keeps the fixed searchlight, enhanced communications gear, and rugged, field-serviceable frame of the original, and Kallon Industries builds it at Bernardo.
