Viper VP-7

The Viper VP-7 is a 70-ton brawler, a mixed-tech rebuild of the 2832-era VP-1. It keeps a Binary Laser (Blazer) Cannon in each arm, but replaces the Medium Pulse Laser in the left torso, right torso, and center torso (rear-facing) with an ER Medium Laser in each of those same locations. Where the VP-1 runs a 280 XL fusion engine over a standard structure, the VP-7 carries a 280 Inner Sphere light fusion engine over an Inner Sphere composite structure, and its heat-sink count falls from 17 double to 13 Inner Sphere double. It also fields an Inner Sphere targeting computer in the left torso and a Clan active probe in the head, neither carried on the base configuration. Cruising speed holds at 43 km/h with a top speed near 65, and a jump of 120 metres remains available. The fixed searchlight and rugged, field-serviceable frame carry over, and Kallon Industries builds it at Bernardo.
