The Viper (Black Python) 5 is a 75-ton heavy that trades the base model's paired large pulse lasers and their attendant medium and small pulse lasers for a Gauss rifle in the right arm and a pair of ER PPCs, one in each torso. The targeting computer that supported the original's pulse-laser array in the right arm is gone, and the twin machine guns in the left arm carry over unchanged. Heat-sink count falls from 13 to 11 double sinks, while the 375 XL fusion engine, endo steel structure, and ferro-fibrous armor are unaltered, holding cruising speed at 54 km/h and top speed at 86 km/h with a 150-metre jump capability. New Kent Armorworks builds it at New Kent (Celebes).
