The Mastodon D is a 95-ton assault that fights at long range, cruising at 32 km/h and topping out near 54. Where the Prime configuration mounts an ER PPC in each arm, this configuration carries a pair of LRM 15 racks and a Medium Pulse Laser in the left arm, mirrored by a pair of LRM 15 racks and a Medium Pulse Laser in the right arm. In place of the Prime's Streak LRM 20 in each torso, this configuration fields a plain LRM 20 in the Left Torso and another in the Right Torso, with CASE II lining both torsos as in the Prime. It runs with 15 double heat sinks against the Prime's 19. The frame is rugged and field-serviceable, though maintenance-intensive, and Jötunn BattleWorx builds it at Goito.
