Mastodon B

The Mastodon B is a 95-ton assault built as a juggernaut, cruising at 32 km/h and topping out near 54. Where the Prime configuration mounts an ER PPC in each arm, this configuration carries an LB 20-X AC in the left arm and packs the right arm with twin Streak SRM 4 launchers and four medium pulse lasers. In place of the Prime's paired Streak LRM 20 racks in both torsos, the B fields a single Streak LRM 20 in the right torso, and CASE II lines both the left and right torso as on the Prime. The heat-sink count drops to 15 double from the Prime's 19. Recognition features include a rugged, field-serviceable frame, though it is a maintenance-intensive design.
