Mackie MSK-8B

The Mackie MSK-8B is a 100-ton juggernaut, a 2576 field rebuild of the 2439 MSK-5S sniper, cruising at 32 km/h and topping out near 54. Where the MSK-5S carried a Primitive Prototype PPC in the left arm, this variant fields a pair of standard PPCs in the same location, and an AC/20 replaces the AC/5 in the right arm. Twin medium lasers sit in the center torso in place of the single large laser, and CASE now lines the right torso. Standard armor plating and 21 single heat sinks replace the primitive armor and 17 single heat sinks of the original, though the engine drops from a 360 to a 300 fusion unit. The frame keeps its rugged, field-serviceable construction and easy servicing, and it is built as a field refit at various sites rather than by a dedicated manufacturer.
