Defiance DFC-OA

The Defiance DFC-OA is a 55-ton fighter flown in the fire-support role, standing apart from the base configuration's dogfighter arrangement. Where the base configuration mounts a Gauss rifle and paired medium pulse lasers in the nose, this configuration carries a pair of ER medium lasers there instead, and each wing holds a single ER PPC in place of the two ER medium lasers per wing on the base configuration. The aft mount trades the base configuration's paired ER small lasers for a single SRM 2. Eight more double heat sinks cool this configuration than the base carries, for a total of nineteen, and both fly on standard armor. Ceres Metals Industries builds the type at Capella.
