The DAD-DX is a 3097 rebuild of the 3053 Daedalus DAD-3C, a 45-ton striker still cruising at 65 km/h with a top speed near 97. Where the DAD-3C carried a Machine Gun and Large Pulse Laser in its arms, this configuration fields twin Medium X-Pulse Lasers in the left arm and a Heavy PPC fitted with a PPC capacitor in the right. In place of the SRM 6, SRM 4, and Small Laser of the torsos, it mounts a Small X-Pulse Laser in each torso, an ER Small Laser facing rearward from the right torso, and a pair of ER Medium Lasers in the head. A lighter 270 XXL fusion engine and endo-composite structure replace the earlier XL engine and endo steel frame, and the heat-sink count rises from 10 to 13 double sinks. A supercharger in the center torso pushes its sprint speed to 130 km/h when engaged, in place of the DAD-3C's jump capability. It remains a maintenance-intensive design, built by Innovative Design Concepts at Solaris VII.
