Daedalus DAD-4A

The DAD-4A is a 45-ton striker that fights close in, cruising at 65 km/h and topping out near 97 like the 3053 DAD-3C it derives from. Where the DAD-3C paired a Machine Gun in the left arm with a Large Pulse Laser in the right, the DAD-4A drops the left-arm weapon entirely and carries a single ER Medium Laser in the right arm, backed by a pair of ER Small Lasers in the head. The SRM 6 and SRM 4 in the left torso and the SRM 4 in the right torso are upgraded to Streak SRM 6 and twin Streak SRM 4 racks, and the small laser in the right torso and the CASE installation in the left torso are both gone. Triple-Strength Myomer and a supercharger in the center torso let the DAD-4A push to a sprint speed of 130 km/h with the supercharger engaged and boost its cruising speed to 86 km/h under combat heat, and its heat-sink count rises from 10 to 12 double sinks over the DAD-3C. It remains a maintenance-intensive design, built by Innovative Design Concepts on Solaris VII.
