Recognition notes
The Blackjack BJ-3 is a 45-ton brawler, a 3042 rebuild of the 2756 BJ-1X skirmisher. It cruises at 43 km/h and tops out near 65, slower than the original's 54/86 pace, but carries a jump jet good for 120 metres, a capability the BJ-1X lacked. Where the BJ-1X packed four flamers alongside its medium lasers, the BJ-3 removes the flamers and places a PPC in each arm, next to a medium laser in each arm and one in each torso. The engine drops from a 225 fusion unit to a lighter 180, and the heat sink count falls from 18 single sinks to 10 double sinks. Ceres Metals Industries builds the type at St. Ives.
