Recognition Notes

The Baboon (Howler) 3 "Devil" is a 20-ton striker, a 3066 refit of the 2871 Baboon (Howler) that traded the original's long-range missile work for a close-in punch. Where the base model carried an LRM 5 in the right torso, this configuration mounts an ER PPC in the same location. The lighter 120 XL fusion engine replaces the base model's 140 fusion engine, and cruising speed drops from 76 to 65 km/h, with top speed falling from 119 to 97. Both versions keep the low, hard-to-target silhouette and fixed searchlight, and the type is refit at the Eden Rose Facility 12-D and at the Snow Raven Industrial Complex Alpha on Dante.
