Paladin PAL-3

The Paladin PAL-3 is a 60-ton skirmisher, a 3068 rebuild of the 3053 PAL-1 original. Where the PAL-1 fielded seven machine guns in the left arm, the PAL-3 replaces them with an Ultra AC/20, and the Large Pulse Laser in the right arm gives way to a Medium X-Pulse Laser. In place of the SRM 6, the twin Streak SRM 2 racks, and the Artemis IV fire-control system in the left torso, this variant carries four Machine Guns there, and CASE moves from the left torso to the right torso. A 360 XXL fusion engine replaces the 300 fusion engine, raising cruising speed from 54 to 65 km/h and top speed from 86 to 97 km/h, and reinforced internal structure replaces the endo steel structure of the original. It is a maintenance-intensive design, built by Innovative Design Concepts on Solaris VII.
