Maelstrom MTR-7K

The Maelstrom MTR-7K is a 75-ton skirmisher that trades its 3056 ancestor's mixed laser suite for heavier, cleaner-burning weapons while holding the same cruising speed of 54 km/h and top speed of 86. Where the MTR-5K carried an ER Large Laser in the left arm, the MTR-7K mounts a Heavy Large Laser there, and the ER PPC in the right arm carries over unchanged. In place of the TAG, Medium Pulse Laser, and Small Laser once fitted through the torso and center torso, this variant fields a Medium X-Pulse Laser in the left torso and another in the right torso, with a third replacing the head-mounted Medium Pulse Laser. Inner Sphere endo steel internal structure replaces the standard structure of the original, and the chassis now draws on mixed Inner Sphere and Clan technology rather than pure Inner Sphere components. Telfar Battlemechs builds the MTR-7K at its Midway works.
