The Maelstrom MTR-6E is a 75-ton skirmisher, a 3062 rebuild of the 3056 MTR-5K, cruising at 54 km/h and topping out at 86. The ER Large Laser in the left arm and ER PPC in the right arm carry over, along with the TAG in the right torso, but where the MTR-5K mounted a Medium Pulse Laser in the center torso and another in the head, this configuration fields a plain Medium Laser in each of those locations. It also adds a Small Laser to the left torso and another to the right torso alongside the existing Small Laser in the center torso, and its double heat sink count falls from 19 to 17. Telfar Battlemechs builds the type at its Midway plant.
