Ares ARS-V1D Hephaestus

The Ares ARS-V1D Hephaestus is a 135-ton superheavy juggernaut, crawling along at 22 km/h and topping out at only 32, sluggish even for a machine of its bulk. Its arms carry the heaviest punch: two ER Large Lasers in the left arm, and in the right arm two Large Pulse Lasers alongside a Light PPC. Both the left and right torsos mount an identical secondary battery of an ER Medium Laser, ER Small Laser, LRM 5, and SRM 2, while the center torso adds a further ER Small Laser and SRM 2. Inner Sphere CASE II lines both side torsos, and a radical heat-sink system sits in the center torso alongside 23 Inner Sphere double heat sinks. Anti-personnel pods are mounted in the left leg, right leg, and center leg. The Hephaestus is a command 'Mech and carries a fixed searchlight, with a C3 slave unit fitted in the left arm. Rhodes Foundry builds the type at Devil's Rock.
