Tarantula ZPH-5A

The ZPH-5A is a 3111 field refit of the 3054 Tarantula scout, rebuilding the base ZPH-1's close-range battery into a single stand-off weapon. Where the original carried a Medium Laser in each torso and a Streak SRM 2 in the center torso, this configuration mounts one ER Large Laser in the left torso and drops the short-range missile rack entirely. Endo steel internal structure replaces the standard structure of the ZPH-1, and a boosted C3 slave unit sits in the right torso. MASC in the center torso lets the machine sprint to 173 km/h above its 86 km/h cruising speed, in place of the base model's jump capability, and the type is assembled at various sites as a field refit rather than a factory production run.
