The Rapier RPR-100b-EC is an 85-ton fighter flown in the attack role, refit from the RPR-100 with an XL engine in place of the original's fusion plant. The nose retains the autocannon/20 but trades the paired PPCs for a pair of Improved Large Pulse Lasers, and the LRM 10 gives way to an Improved LRM 20 alongside them. A Medium Pulse Laser now covers the aft arc, a position the base dogfighter carried no weapon in at all. Eighteen double heat sinks cool the type, up from twelve on the RPR-100, and it flies in standard armor. It is built as a field refit at various sites rather than a dedicated factory.
