Penetrator PTR-8D

The PTR-8D rebuilds the Penetrator as a 75-ton brawler that fights in close, where the PTR-4D fought as a skirmisher. In place of the twin ER large lasers it mounts a Large Re-engineered Laser in each arm, and the six Medium Pulse Lasers of the torso banks give way to six Medium Lasers, three to a side. The old Anti-Missile System is replaced by a Laser AMS in the center torso, and a coolant pod sits in the left torso. Endo steel structure and laser-reflective armor replace the standard structure and standard armor of the earlier model, and the heat-sink count rises from 12 to 13 double sinks. Cruising speed holds at 43 km/h with a top speed near 65, and a single jump still carries it 120 metres. The type keeps its stable firing platform, and Kallon Weapon Industries builds it at Wernke.
