The CNS-TD9 remakes the 55-ton Cronus as a close-in striker, a sharp departure from the CNS-3M's skirmisher role. Where the CNS-3M carried a large laser and twin medium lasers, this variant strips the arsenal down to three Small VSP Lasers, one in each arm and one in the left torso, and pairs them with a claw in each arm. A 330 XL fusion engine and endo steel structure lift cruising speed from 54 to 65 km/h and top speed from 86 to 97 km/h, and MASC in the right torso allows a sprint burst to 130 km/h. The CNS-3M's jump capability is gone, replaced by a Guardian ECM suite in the left torso and a C3i computer with targeting computer in the center torso, all wrapped in stealth armor in place of the standard plating. The type remains an easily-serviced design, built by Gilmour Miltech at Talitha.
