Thunderbolt IIC 2

The Thunderbolt IIC 2 is a 70-ton skirmisher, a 3088 rework of the 3085 Thunderbolt IIC that trades the earlier machine's XL fusion engine for a 280 Inner Sphere fusion engine, pulling cruising speed down from 54 to 43 km/h and top speed from 86 to 65. Where the original carried a pair of Improved Heavy Large Lasers in both arms, this variant keeps a single Improved Heavy Large Laser in the right torso and fits an ER Large Pulse Laser in the right arm, a Small Pulse Laser in the left arm, and three Medium Pulse Lasers in the left torso in place of the Streak LRM 15 and the trio of ER Medium Lasers. A Clan ECM suite sits in the head, and the design adds jump capability of 120 metres that the original lacked. Clan ferro-fibrous armor replaces the base model's standard plating, and the heat-sink count falls from 17 to 15. It remains a maintenance-intensive design, built by Olivetti Weaponry at Sudeten.
