Fennec FEC-5CM

The Fennec FEC-5CM is a 55-ton skirmisher that fights at stand-off range, a mixed Clan and Inner Sphere rebuild of the Inner Sphere FEC-1CM introduced decades earlier in 3080. Where the FEC-1CM carries a PPC and Medium Pulse Laser in each arm, the FEC-5CM instead fields a Large Re-engineered Laser and an ER Medium Laser in each arm. The C3 Computer (Master) in the right torso is reworked into a boosted C3 master computer, and a Clan light active probe sits in the head while a radical heat-sink system occupies the left torso, neither present on the base model. A lighter 275 Clan XXL fusion engine replaces the 330 XL fusion engine, and cruising speed falls from 65 to 54 km/h with top speed dropping from 97 to 86; heat-sink count rises from 10 to 11 Inner Sphere double sinks. The minimal, weapon-pod arms without hands carry over from the FEC-1CM. Corean Enterprises builds the type at its Augusta plant.
